Shirin Mazdeyasna is a multidisciplinary artist, immigrated from Iran and residing in New York State, whose work is derived from her Zoroastrian heritage and explores the intersections of ritual, memory, and community. She holds a dual-degree in Fine Arts and Religion Studies from The New School, and a Masters of Arts in Art Therapy from New York University. Her artistic practice brings overlooked narratives to the forefront, examining cultural continuity through material experimentation, immersive storytelling, and participatory installations. Her work explores what it means to thrive in conditions of deprivation—be it material, emotional, or spiritual—while reinforcing resilience and complexity. Her approach to art-making emphasizes the layered identities within communities, craving space for reflection and visibility.
